Welcome to Wood Badge

THE PURPOSE: 21st Century Wood Badge is the advanced training program for all B.S.A. Leadership (Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity, and Venturing Leaders).  Wood Badge is designed to train adult volunteer leaders, as well as Professional Scouters, using the latest leadership skills.  Techniques and skills learned will help you become a better leader.  Starting in 1919, and continuing today, Wood Badge is the preeminent leadership training offered by the Boy Scouts of America.

WHO MAY ATTEND WOOD BADGE:

  1. Be registered members of the Boy Scouts of America.  There is no minimum tenure requirement.

  3. Have completed the basic training course for their scouting position.

  4. Have completed the outdoor skills training program appropriate for their scouting position (required for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, and Varsity coaches and assistants).  All other participants are encouraged to complete the Introduction of Outdoor Leader Skill Training or Baloo Training before attending the Wood Badge Course, but it is not required.
